April 2017.
Rafael had the pleasure of hosting CU clarinet professor Daniel Silver in Costa Rica for a concert with the National Band of Cartago on March 26, 2017. They performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto in A together with a small ensemble of national bandsmen, along with a program including Vittorio Giannini's Symphony No. 3, and Leonard Bernstein's "Overture to Candide." They were accompanied on this trip by doctoral candidate Jose Leonardo Leon who performed as a member of the ensemble. Both Dan and Jose gave master classes throughout the week for students at the Universidad Nacional and at Castella Conservatory.
