Costa Rica - CU's Gary Lewis

Gary Lewis, Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of Colorado - Boulder, visited Costa Rica from May 23 - 29, 2016, to conduct the Banda Nacional de San José. In addition to daily rehearsals and two concerts, Professor Lewis was invited to give a master class for conducting students at the University of Costa Rica, and was also asked to provide a workshop for all of the conductors of the National Bands of Costa Rica on the topic of "Leadership and Collaboration from the Podium." This visit was meant to further the CU College of Music's commitment to forging new partnerships and promoting its image internationally as part of its "Strategic Vision."
