Music Students go to SPCO

As the instructor for the Augsburg Seminar course for first-year music students, or AugSem, Rafael crafts a curriculum that facilitates transition to college life, introduces and connects students to the campus community, and helps them become more self-reflective learners. First-years were treated to a night out for dinner at a local restaurant followed by a visit to The Ordway for a performance of the world-renowned St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. With metro passes in hand for a round-trip on the Light Rail, students met the “Engaging Minneapolis” component for this class and were introduced to one of the pillars of the arts scene in the Twin Cities.

The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra offers free admission for visitors with a student ID and has very generously supported this activity for the past three years for Augsburg University students with some of the best seats in the house. We look forward to visiting again soon for more performances.
