Navy Band of Peru

Rafael was invited to visit with the Navy Band in El Callao and presented a lecture on the intersection between leadership and conducting, using as the hierarchy of military leadership and the misunderstood nature of trust and respect that forms the basis for leadership and followership. Beginning with the “art of influencing behavior” as his premise, Rafael showed how subtle gestures and trust as a conductor can create an environment in which musicians can flourish as performers.
