After spending ten years living and working in Costa Rica, Rafael accepted a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at the University of Colorado in Boulder to pursue his studies in orchestral conducting at the doctoral level. He expects to make many friends and to enjoy the next several years immersed in conducting studies and reacclimating to living in the United States. His acceptance of the graduate assistantship comes with appointment as Assistant/Cover Conductor with the Boulder Philharmonic.
